H&R Block's TaxCut(R) Software Rated #1 by Wall Street Journal, New York Times, PC Magazine and Other Major Reviewers
Reviews Cite Tax Advice, Ease-of-Use and Low Price
TaxCut(R) software from H&R Block (NYSE: HRB) this year has been overwhelmingly chosen as the best choice in tax software by the nation's top software reviewers in national publications, including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Barron's, PC Magazine and PC World.The February issue of PC Magazine gives TaxCut four out of a possible five-star rating, noting that "TaxCut is better than ever," and praising TaxCut's ability to connect users with H&R Block tax expertise. PC World gave TaxCut Platinum four-and-a-half stars out of a possible five-star rating.
The Wall Street Journal review also singled out TaxCut's ability to connect the user with an H&R Block tax professional via its Ask-A-Tax Advisor feature. "TaxCut did better," technology columnist Walter S. Mossberg wrote in his Jan. 30 article. "The TaxCut expert e-mailed me back within an hour with a good answer ... I emphatically recommend H&R Block's TaxCut over Intuit's TurboTax."
C/net News gave TaxCut Deluxe the nod: "We like the way that TaxCut gets the job done with the least fuss for the smallest amount of cash."
In addition, many of the articles praise TaxCut Platinum's new family license that enables users to legally share the software with family members, subject to certain conditions. This feature is especially popular because of competitor TurboTax's new product activation requirement, which limits printing and e-filing of tax returns to one computer.
